Shop Manager

St Leonard’s Hospice is recruiting a Shop Manager to work at our Scarcroft Road, York shop to manage in the day-to-day running, delivering an efficient, organised and customer focussed operation to maximise income for the Hospice. Every interaction with our customers, whether that be through purchases or donations will help us to continue to provide care and support to local people with life limiting illnesses.

Your main responsibilities as Shop Manager will be to:

• Maximise store sales, profits and meet KPIs through management of stock, visual merchandising and commercial analysis
• Provide a high level of customer service to donors and customers and uphold the Hospice values and Retail Service principles
• Provide line management support to the shop team which will consist of paid staff and volunteers

Our ideal candidates will have:

• Experience of working in the retail sector
• Experience of successfully managing staff and/ or volunteers
• Proven interpersonal skills and be able to communicate at all levels within the Hospice and to the general public
• Excellent organisational skills including attention to detail and prioritising their workload and being able to use their initiative to drive footfall and sales

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, 5 days over 7 which will include weekend working on a rotational basis.The salary band for this role is £25,082 - £26,753 per annum, dependent on experience.
