At St Leonard’s Hospice we have a great opportunity for a full time Registered Nurse to join our multi-disciplinary team who provide a high standard of skilled, compassionate nursing care and symptom management to patients within the community.

This is an ideal opportunity for anyone who would like to extend and develop their palliative and end-of-life care skills. You will have the opportunity to work with highly skilled staff across our Hospice@Home, working across a full shift rotation pattern (days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays).

Working in our Hospice@Home team as a Registered Nurse, your main duties will be to:

  • work as a member of the Hospice multi-disciplinary team to provide a high standard of skilled, compassionate nursing care and symptom management to patients
  • be responsible for the planning, delivering and evaluating the effectiveness of care given to patients
  • provide emotional support to patient’s loved ones
  • maintain accurate written records of care, communicating all necessary information to other team members
  • create a positive and safe environment for patients

What we need from you:

  • previous experience of working as a nurse within a community setting including having excellent nursing skills, record keeping and medicines management
  • excellent communication skills and have the ability to be sensitive and empathetic
  • be able to respond appropriately to emotionally challenging situations
  • be highly motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic

This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week which will include evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
