We are looking for a Volunteer Complementary Therapist to provide gentle seated yoga, breathwork and relaxation to patients and carers attending the Heart Failure Social group at the Hospice. The St Leonard’s Wellbeing Service encompasses a range of services to support patients affected by life-limiting illnesses, as well as their families, friends, and carers, across our region.
This is a group session with 30 - 40 minutes of therapy followed by refreshments and social support. Sessions run under the supervision of the Complementary Therapy Lead. Our current volunteer is with us until the end of June so there is the opportunity to shadow her until then.
Note: Volunteer Complementary Therapists are subject to an Enhanced DBS, checked against the Adult barred list.
When am I needed?
Our Heart Failure Social group which meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month in the Sunflower Centre at the Hospice. You would need to be available from 1:30pm - 4pm.
The dates for the rest of 2026 are: 8 April, 13 May, 10 June, 8 July, 12 August, 9 September, 14 October, 11 November and 9 December.

Support and Supervision
Volunteers will be supervised by the Complementary Therapy Lead who will provide you with full role training and support and liaise with you over all aspects of your role. Additional support will be provided by the wider Wellbeing Service team.
The Volunteer Services Team will help guide you through the application and induction process and be your point of contact for general enquiries about volunteering.
Volunteers are required to complete mandatory training modules which are usually delivered via our online platform. Additional, booster and refresher training may be delivered as needed via e-learning, video links or face to face. You may also be invited to attend role specific in person meetings where appropriate.
